Dhaka is set to host three international exhibitions on the latest innovation, technology, and products; regarding globally advanced building and construction, green architecture, and wood and the woodworking sector.
The three-day long tradeshows will begin on Thursday.
The exhibitions will be organized in halls: 1, 1A, 3, and 4 of the International Convention City in Bashundhara, Dhaka.
More than 200 organizations from 10 different countries, including Bangladesh, will participate in the exhibitions.
Futurex Trade Fair and Events Private Limited of India and ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd of Bangladesh are jointly organizing the exhibition.
Organizers briefed the media about the upcoming exhibitions at a conference—held at a hotel in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Mohammad Shamim Akhter, director of HBRI; Dr Khandaker Shabbir Ahmed, head of the Department of Architecture of BUET; Md Tajul Islam, AGM of Jat Holdings Ltd; Naimul Hossain Khan, CEO of Wood Tech Solutions; Nanda Gopal, director and Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, managing Director of ASK Trade and Exhibitions Private Limited, were present at the press conference.
Bangladesh is growing rapidly as it aspires to become a middle-income economy by 2021.
The latest technology for, products for, and solutions to challenges of the architecture and construction fields will be displayed at the exhibitions titled“4th Bangladesh Buildcon 2018; Green Arch 2018 and 4th Bangladesh Wood International Expo 2018”.
The event will also display global-standard furniture crafted in Bangladesh.
The key exhibiting segments are: architectural hardware and products, building materials, MEP services, ready-mix concrete equipment, brick-making plants, construction machinery and equipment, sustainable architecture, woodworking machinery, furniture, hardware, power tools, fittings and fixtures, laminate, board, coating, abrasives, and adhesives.
Seminars will be organized on each day of the tradeshow. A seminar on "Alternative and Affordable Green Technology" will be held on July 12 presented by Md Abu Sadeq, former director of HBRI and Dr Toufiq M Seraj, founder managing director of Sheltech (Pvt) Ltd.
The second edition of the International Conference on Green Architecture 2018 will be held on July 13 presented by Ar Luis Longhi Traverso of Longhi Architects, Peru; Prof. Shamsul Wares, Eminent Architect of Bangladesh; Dr. Cristian Suau, Studio POP, C.I.C, Scotland; and Tai Lee Siang, Immediate Past Chair, World Green Building Council.
Paralell Technical Sessions will be held on July 14 on important themes such as "Affordable and Clean Energy," "Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure," "Sustainable Cities and Communities," and "Responsive Consumption and Production."
