The management authorities of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2018 have decided to extend the duration of the event till February 4.
Mohammad Abdur Rouf, secretary of the Trade Fair Committee, told the Dhaka Tribune on Sunday that they took the decision to continue 23rd edition of the fair for four more days following requests from the businesses participating in it.
“The businessmen argued that they had experienced a low turn up of visitors because of the cold wave. Now as the weather has turned normal, people have started showing up,” said Rouf, also the deputy director (finance) at the Export Promotion Bureau (EBP).
The month-long fair had kicked off on January 1 with a total of 564 stalls and pavilions showcasing quality goods being produced at home and abroad.
The last edition of the DITF in 2017 saw sales of up to Tk113.53 crore and export orders of Tk 243.44 crore.
