State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Sunday said the government has planned to bring the country’s all unions under high-speed internet connectivity by 2018, reports BSS.
“Now about 60 lakh people are getting digital services through 5,272 union digital centres in all over the country,” he said.
The state minister was addressing an inaugural function of Jhenaidah Municipality’s online billing and payment system and human waste treatment plan project as the chief guest.
Palak added that now people can pay all bills including municipal tax online.
Jhenaidah Municipality Mayor Saidul Karim Mintu presided over the function, which was addressed, among others, by the Joint Secretary of Prime Minister’s Office, Mustafijur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of the district, Mahabub Alam Talukder, Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman and senior software engineer Shakila Rahman.
