LG introduces mosquito-repellent TV to Bangladesh
LG Electronics Bangladesh has launched a new range of TVs which act as a mosquito repellent. The LG Mosquito Away TV, developed as per the insights of Bangladeshi consumers, is equipped with an ultrasonic device which, once activated, uses sound wave technology to repel mosquitoes without emitting harmful radiation, said a press release on Tuesday as reported by BSS. Explaining the technology, Head of Consumer Electronics of LG Bangladesh Mahmudul Hasan said: "Mosquitoes sense the CO2 exhaled by human beings and get attracted towards it. The ultrasonic device paralyzes and disables this ability of the mosquitoes." "It uses sound waves only and is environment and human friendly as no harmful chemicals are used. The TV is also cost effective," he added. The TV has been experimentally verified and certified by the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. The technology complies with the standards set by global organizations. The TV also features 20W Speakers, an IPS panel and a 6 month replacement warranty. Managing Director of LG Electronics Bangladesh Edward Kim said: "LG TVs with Mosquito Away technology effectively protect consumers' families from mosquito borne diseases and also from harmful chemicals used in conventional mosquito repellents." The TVs will be available at authorized LG showrooms at a price of Tk32,900 for 32 inch models while 43 inch models are available at Tk51,900.
