US-Bangla Airlines begins flight on Dhaka-Singapore route
The private carrier, US-Bangla Airlines, has announced that it would operate fifth international flight on Dhaka-Singapore route from Thursday. The minimum fare for Dhaka-Singapore flight has been fixed at Tk19,999 while its round-trip fare goes about Tk24,499 inclusive of all taxes and surcharges. The flights will be operated four days a week – Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft will fly from Dhaka at 11pm (Bangladesh Standard Time) and arrive in Singapore at 3:15am (BST). Similarly, the flight will start from Singapore at 4:15am (BST) and will land at Dhaka at 8:30am (BST). Muhammed Abdullah Al Mamun, managing director of the airlines, said: “Within two and a half years of its operation, US-Bangla Airlines stands as the top private airline of the country. “US-Bangla Airlines carries over 50% of the total passengers in the domestic sector,” he added. Currently, more than 200 flights are being operated weekly by the airlines. There are eight business class and 156 economy class seats in the Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Within a very short time, US-Bangla Airlines will be operating in Bangkok, Guangzhou, Doha and Paro. Currently, US-Bangla Airlines has six aircraft in its fleet. The aircraft are three Boeing 737-800 and three Dash8-Q400. The fourth Boeing 737-800 and DASH8-Q400 aircraft will join the fleet by August this year.
