Govt sets Tk12,500 minimum wage for RMG sector, workers outraged

State Minister for Labour and Employment Munnujan Sufian on Tuesday announced that the new minimum wage for the readymade garment (RMG) workers has been set at Tk12,500, after obtaining approval from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Metro rail to operate special service from Wednesday

Two special metro rail services will operate from 7:10am and 7:20am from Uttara North station on Wednesday to facilitate students and professionals of different educational institutions.

DMP: 1,636 people arrested in 10 days since October 28

A total of 1,636 people, mostly leaders and activists of BNP, were arrested from different parts of the capital in 10 days since October 28 when a series of violence occurred centering the BNP’s grand rally at Nayapaltan in the capital.
