Square Hospital fined for irregularities

A mobile court backed up by RAB 2 has fined Square Hospital Tk2.65 lakh, bringing charge on six irregularities, said a press release.

The mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Md Helal Uddin, conducted the drive at the private hospital located in the capital's Panthapath area from 12:30pm to 14:30pm Wednesday.

Merkel Time's Person of the Year, Baghdadi runner-up

Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, has been named by Time magazine as its Person of the Year.

Officials of the Department of Narcotics Control have detained a Spanish citizen with 3kg cocaine worth Tk50 crore at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Detainee Thias Spejo Julius arrived at the airport on an Emirates Airlines fight from Brazil around 5:55pm Tuesday.

Robbers' vehicle crush 2 traders to death in Savar

Robbers have reportedly crushed two vegetables traders to death with their vehicle in Bhakurta area in Savar.

The deceased are Mohsin, 37, and his nephew Masud, 22. Both the traders hailed from Battali area of Keraniganj.

Autopsy says Nirob drowned

Five-year-old Nirob, who fell into an uncovered manhole in the capital's Shyampur area, drowned, a forensic report has concluded.

A four-member forensic team led by Assistant Professor Dr Kazi Mohammad Abu Sama, acting head of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Forensic department, told the journalists on Wednesday morning.

2 suspected criminals found dead in Cox's Bazar

Police have recovered the bodies of Sifat Bahini chief Sifat and his younger brother Arafat from Himchori Dhala area in Cox's Bazar.
