A Sylhet court has awarded death penalty to four in the sensational Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon murder case. Sylhet Metropolitan Sessions Judge Akbar Hossain Mridha passed the verdict on Sunday morning.

2 get death penalty in Rakib murder

A Khulna court has sentenced two people to death for brutally killing teenage boy Rakibul Islam Rakib three months ago. The convicts are Sharif Motors owner Sharif and his uncle Mintu. However, the court emancipated Sharif’s mother Beauty from the murder charge brought against her in the lawsuit along with the duo.

MP Liton gets bail to attend JS 8th session

A local court has granted bail to lawmaker Manjurul Islam Liton in a case launched against him on charge of attempt to murder a child by shooting. Gaibandha Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mainul Hasan Yusuf on Sunday made the interim bail order to Gaibandha 1 constituency MP from the ruling Awami League.

Arrest warrant against Tarique Rahman

A Dhaka court has issued an arrest warrant against BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman in a case filed for calling Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman "Pakbandhu." Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Lutfur Rahman Shishir passed the order on taking the probe report of the case into cognisance on Sunday afternoon.

Shakib to leave for US tonight
