27 killed in stampede during Zakat distribution 

At least 27 people have been killed and over 50 injured in a stampede in Mymensingh town during the distribution of Zakat clothes. The incident took place at Nurani Jorda Factory in Mymensingh town around 5am Friday.

Rabada magic sinks Tigers 

South Africa recorded a comfortable eight-wicket win over Bangladesh in the first of three ODIs at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium yesterday with paceman Kagiso Rabada leading the way as he became only the second bowler after Taijul Islam to pick up a hat-trick on debut. Rabada registered miserly bowling figures of 6/16 from eight overs to present the Proteas a target of 161.

Two bodies to probe Mymensingh stampede 

Two separate committees have been formed to investigate the stampede incident in Mymensingh town that claimed the lives of at least 24 people. Quoting Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner Mustakim Billah Faruqui, BSS reported that a one-member committee was formed to probe the incident.

Two remanded over college girl murder in Mirpur 

A Dhaka court has granted three days remand for two suspects for their alleged involvement in the killing of a college girl in Mirpur. The two are victim's stepbrother Robin, 24, and the guard of the building, Md Milon, 42.

Three Bangladeshis killed in Saudi road accident 

Three Bangladeshi nationals have been killed in a road accident in Riyadh of Saudi Arabia. The deceased are Alam Chand from Tangail, Wahed Ali from Jamalpur and Masud Mia from Kishorganj.

Two held with Tk25 lakh fake notes 

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members have detained a couple with fake notes worth Tk25 lakh in the capital's Adabor area. The detainees are Md Hamidur Rahman, 37, and his wife Jamila Aktar.
