Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has regained the number one spot in the ICC ODI ranking.
The latest ranking which was released on Thursday has confirmed the supremacy of the Bangladesh player.
Naik Razzak reaches home
A delegation of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has brought abducted Naik Abdur Razzak back from Myanmar after eight days of his abduction from Jadimura area of Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.
The BGB team reached Teknaf around 6:15pm Thursday.
Buet closed sine die
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has been declared closed for an indefinite period following the attack on its academic building.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting held at Buet campus on Thursday afternoon, said Buet Public Relations Officer Shah Alam.
Forex reserves cross $25bn
The country’s foreign exchange reserves crossed US$25bn mark Thursday, setting a new record.
“The country’s foreign currency reserve has reached to a new height thanks to the stable inflow of remittance and export growth,” said Kazi Sayedur Rahman, general manager of Forex Reserve and Treasury Management Department of Bangladesh Bank.
Menon demands immediate ban on Jamaat
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon has demanded an immediate ban on the Jamaat-e-Islami.
“The Jamaat is accused of terrorism and militancy at present… I am placing our party’s demand for a ban on the Jamaat,” she told the parliament participating in the budget discussion.
