Mobile court punishment on basis of evidence
The cabinet has approved the final draft of Mobile Court (Amendment) Act 2015, keeping the provision of punishment on the basis of the witness and evidence. As per the existing act, mobile courts are not allowed to punish those who refuse to admit charges against them.

Wife of Rajshahi Wasa MD commits suicide
Wife of Rajshahi Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) managing director has committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her residence in the city’s collectorate field area. Police recovered the body of Chandana Rani Sarkar, 45, and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College morgue for autopsy.
ASI held with yaba pills remanded
Special Branch Assistant Sub-Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman, who was detained with 680,000 pieces of yaba pills, has been placed on a three-day remand. Feni Judicial Magistrate Alamgir Mohammad Faruki granted the remand after police placed ASI Mahmuzur and his driver Jabed before the court with a 10-day remand plea on Monday afternoon.
Afghan parliament under Taliban attack
A co-ordinated Taliban attack on the Afghan parliament in Kabul has ended with all six gunmen killed, the interior ministry says. Attackers detonated a huge car bomb outside the building, before racing into parliament itself, reports said.

A total of 45,395 people were killed and 38,770 others suffered injuries in as many as 55,316 road accidents across the country in the last 15 years. 120 dead in Pakistan heatwave
More than 120 people have died during a heatwave in Pakistan's southern Sindh province. Health officials say most of the deaths have been in Karachi, which has seen temperatures as high as 45 degrees Celsius (113 deg F) in recent days.
