BCL denies involvement with SUST clash

The central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League has denied any sort of involvement with the clash at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) that left a private university student dead.

Addressing a press conference at Dhaka University on Friday afternoon, BCL Central Committee President Badiuzzaman Shohag denied the involvement of any BCL member with the clash, identifying the responsible as an “outsider.”

17 held over SUST BCL clash

Police have detained 17 activists of Bangladesh Chaatra League (BCL) following the clash at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST).

Of the detainees, two are identified as Anik Das and Khokan.

Alal freed on bail

Jubo Dal President Moazzem Hossain Alal, has been freed on bail on Friday, 21 days after his arrest in a case of hartal violence.

Jailer Amzad Hossain Don of Kashimpur Jail1 said Alal walked out of jail around 11:30am.

President, PM pay homage to armed forces martyrs

Police, in a drive, have arrested a person with 2,950 bottles of Phensidyl syrup from Elenga bus stand area under Kalihati uapzila in Tangail.

Aksar Ali, 42, son of Abdus Sattar of Kabilpur village of Jessore, was arrested on Thursday.

1 held with 10,000 yaba tablets

Police, in a drive, have detained a person with 10,000 pieces of yaba tablets from Shah Amanat Bridge area in Chittagong.

The arrestee is Bashir Ahmed.
