DB: Handmade 'grenades' hurled from graveyard

The Shia gathering at the Hussaini Dalan was targeted with handmade “grenades” on Friday night, a police official has said.

The homemade “grenades" were hurled from the graveyard at Hussaini Dalan, Sanwar Hossain, additional deputy commissioner (Detective Branch) of police, made the disclosure while talking to reporters after visiting the spot on Sunday afternoon.

Blair admits Iraq War played role in rise of ISIS

Former British prime minister Tony Blair has admitted that the Iraq War and the removal of Saddam Hussein in 2003 were partially the cause of the rise of Islamic State (ISIS).

A Gaibandha court has rejected the bail petition for Awami League MP Manjurul Islam Liton in a case filed over shooting a child in the leg.

Senior Judicial Magistrate of Sundarganj Cognisance Court Md Waheduzzaman passed the order on Sunday afternoon, MP Liton’s counsel Md Sirajul Islam Babu told the Dhaka Tribune.
