Visitors are invited to discover the beautiful landscaped garden of the gallery, where they may sit down by the lake to enjoy winter evenings over a cup of tea. An important motive behind organizing JOLOKABBO was to engage in promoting not only watercolor but upcoming talent. The majority of the 14 artists are young yet with immense potential. They have all been trained in a number of reputed art institutions, ranging from Shantiniketan in Kolkata to the China Academy of Art in Zhejiang Province.
Among the works exhibited are paintings by three senior and exceptionally talented masters: Ranjit Das, Hamiduzzaman Khan & Samarjit Roy Choudhury. It is hoped that by having works of established painters alongside those by upcoming artists will enable a dialogue between the city’s art critics, connoisseurs & collectors about the new paintings by the burgeoning talent pool.
Paintings on display at the JOLOKABBO exhibition will be available for sale. For information on works by specific artists, please contact Edge Gallery directly.
