While tributes have been pouring in from across the world, the Myanmar military junta has not yet reacted to the killing of Rohingya leader Mohib Ullah that took place in Cox's Bazar on September 29.
This very attitude of the Myanmar military reflects their utter indifference towards the Rohingya crisis created by them, according to multiple sources in Bangladesh and Myanmar.
Since the gruesome murder on the night of September 29, the West, the United Nations systems, international rights organizations and various Rohingya bodies have spoken, expressing condolences and demanding justice.
The National Unity Government (NUG), the parallel civilian government set up after the military coup in February, has also expressed sadness at the death of Mohib Ullah.
Aung Kyaw Moe, a Rohingya civil society activist and an NUG adviser, described the death as a "big loss for the Rohingya community”.

"He was always aware there was a threat, but he thought that despite the threat if he was not doing the work he was doing, no one else would," media reports quoted him.
"They [Myanmar military government] have not given any reaction. I do not think they would feel sorry because Mohib Ullah was in favour of the dignified repatriation of Rohingyas to their homes in Rakhine with full citizen rights," a source in Yangon with years of experience in dealing with the Myanmar government told Dhaka Tribune.
"The Myanmar military is always against the [Rohingyas’] repatriation," he said.
"Mohib Ullah was doing exactly what the Myanmar military doesn't like. So, it's natural that they would be happy about his demise," said another source.
