Multiple surveillance teams of gas distribution companies will monitor the stations to make sure the order is conformed

CNG refuelling stations will remain closed every day for six hours from 3pm to 9pm, aiming to boost the supply of gas to power plants across Bangladesh during the month of Ramadan.

The announcement came through a revised press release issued by Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation, or Petrobangla, on Thursday.

Earlier, on May 23, after a meeting with stakeholders, the government ordered the stations to remain closed from 5pm to 11pm during Ramadan.

Multiple surveillance teams of gas distribution companies will monitor the stations to make sure the order is conformed, the media release says.

If anybody is found to be breaching the government order, the accused will face punishment under the Bangladesh Gas Act-2010, Petrobangla warned.
