Wartsila, a global leader in complete lifecycle solutions for the energy market, has launched a spare parts warehouse in Gazipur district.
It is Wartsila’s first spare parts warehouse facility in Bangladesh.
Addressing the launching ceremony at a city hotel on Monday, Jillur Rahim, managing director of Wartsila Bangladesh Limited, said: “It will play a significant role to support uninterrupted power supply and meet the growing demand in the country.”
Magnus Miemois, director of Wartsila Corporation, added that Bangladesh is an important market for Wartsila and they are committed to making investment here to support their customer business.
Finland-based Wartsila operates at 200 locations in 70 countries around the world.
It started activities in Bangladesh in the early 1990s. As its business grew, Wartsila formed a locally incorporated company named Wartsila Bangladesh Ltd in 1998.
As of today, Wartsila is committed to support 4,200MW electricity generation from different power plants in Bangladesh, covering more than 25% of the national grid.
