Ganasamhati Andolon Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki has asked the political parties of the country to form a national unity based on four goals that include the demand for resignation of the incumbent prime minister.

Speaking at his party’s 19th founding anniversary, Zonayed Saki proposed that at least three national elections be held under an interim government, and that the current government must hand over power to the interim government.

To ensure that the Election Commission members and the chief justice work independently, the appointments have to be done through an independent constitutional body.

Section 70 of the constitution has to be repealed to ensure freedom of speech of the parliament members and to ensure voting rights.

The other demand is about allocating parliamentary seats based on vote counts.

Presided over by Ganasamhati Andolon Dhaka unit Coordinator Monir Uddin Pappu, the meeting was also addressed by Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Leftist Democratic Alliance Coordinator Bazlur Rashid Firoz among others.
