The widow of late JaPa chairman HM Ershad has been suffering from different health complications for a long time
Leader of the Opposition in parliament Raushan Ershad has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
The 78-year-old was admitted to CMH with complications in her lungs on Saturday night, her Assistant Personal Secretary Md Mamun Hasan told reporters.
She was taken to the ICU on Monday after her condition deteriorated when the oxygen supply to Raushon’s lungs had dropped. “She suffered from this issue in the past,” Mamun said.
However, she tested negative for Covid-19, he added.
He said Saad Ershad, son of senior Jatiya Party (JaPa) leader Raushon, and JaPa Chairman and Deputy Leader of Opposition GM Quader has urged the people of the nation to pray for her recovery.
The widow of late JaPa chairman HM Ershad, Raushon has been suffering from different health complications for a long time. This has also led her to miss sessions in parliament and other state events.
Earlier, on April 29, she was admitted to CMH after she fell ill. During that bout, she was treated at the hospital for 24 days.
