The Awami League general secretary paid glowing tributes to late AL leaders Mohammed Nasim, Advocate Sahara Khatun, Sheikh Md Abdullah, and Badaruddin Ahmed Kamran, among others
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has urged the public to remain alert against subterfuge by the August 15 and 21 conspirators.
Quader, also the road, transport, and bridges minister, made the remark during a virtual memorial on Sunday night, arranged by the UK unit of Awami League in memory of party leaders who recently passed away, reports UNB.
The Awami League general secretary paid glowing tributes to late AL leaders Mohammed Nasim, Advocate Sahara Khatun, Sheikh Md Abdullah, and Badaruddin Ahmed Kamran, among others, and prayed for eternal peace for their souls.
“They [the recently deceased party leaders] worked relentlessly for the party and the nation until their deaths as associates of the Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina,” Quader said.
He said the nation lost the greatest Bengali of all time, the architect of independent Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in the month of August in 1975 and his demise serves as a reminder to stay alert against anti-development forces.
Quader also said Bangladesh has been facing the Covid-19 pandemic with enormous courage despite various limitations.
He called upon leaders and workers of the UK Awami League to remain united and active against the propaganda being spread against the government of Sheikh Hasina, as well as to showcase the government's achievements before the world.
Awami League UK unit President Soltan Sharif and General Secretary Sajidur Rahman Faruq also addressed the memorial, among others.
