He said negative criticism about the party members is a bad practice
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has expressed his optimism that the next committee of Awami League would be well organized incorporating young and senior leaders under the leadership of party chief Sheikh Hasina.
“Awami League is a family where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the guardian. We have to prove through our activities that Awami League is a well-organized party . . . the new committee would be a forward-looking one,” said Quader.
He said this while talking to reporters after a joint meeting of party’s associate bodies and north and south units of Dhaka at the Bangabandhu Avenue party central office on Wednesday, reports BSS.
Quader, also the Road, Transport and Bridges Minister, said, “We have to go forward under the guidance of party chief Sheikh Hasina.
Stating that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had enunciated people as the Nation’s strength and the source of all power, Quader said: “We have to go forward under the guidance of party chief Sheikh Hasina upholding the ideals of the Father of the Nation.”
He said that preparations have already been completed to hold Awami League’s 21st national council.
“This council is very important and none but Sheikh Hasina is indispensable for the party. We have to go ahead supporting her instructions and following her guidance,” he added.
Asking party leaders not to print posters of their own with another leader, Obaidul Quader requested them to remove such posters from walls.
The minister said negative criticism about the party members is a bad practice and those who will do so will be identified and action will be taken.
Quader presided over the meeting while Awami League presidium member Kazi Zafarullah, former minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Awami League joint general secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, organizing secretaries Ahmad Hussain, AFM Bahauddin Nasim and Enamul Huque Shamim, office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Deputy-office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Deputy Publication Secretary Aminul Islam Amin, Juba League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, Dhaka city Awami League north unit President Abu Ahmed Monnafi, south unit President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman, north unit General Secretary S M Mannan Kochi and south unit General Secretary Humayun Kabir were present, among others.
