Transport crisis ends as vehicles ply normally, Quader says
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said the Jubo League’s leadership will not be declared without holding its conference.
"The committee will not be declared without holding conference. The new Jubo League committee will take steps to declare the organization's Dhaka city north and south committees after the council," he said on Friday.
Quader told this to journalists during a visit to the Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka to see the overall preparation for holding the seventh national congress of the Jubo League, reports BSS.
The Jubo League congress is scheduled to be held on Saturday.
Taking the valuable advice of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina into the consideration, Quader said the Jubo League leadership will be selected by the councillors as they will determine the next leadership after holding discussions among themselves.
In another query, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said the problems created in the transport sector due to strike have already been resolved through discussion as all types of vehicles are moving normally in the capital and its adjacent areas.
Criticizing BNP's fear of a possible famine-like situation in the country, the Awami League leader said: "We have no control at all on the BNP as the party's leaders are making propaganda and false comments fearing a famine-like situation in the country while talking on the current market situation.
