Sheikh Hasina found the food items without onion to be very tasty and delicious.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has had her meals cooked without onion as the essential cooking ingredient appeared to be a costly item in recent days.
“We stopped eating onion . . . all foods in my house were cooked on Saturday without onion,” a premier office spokesman quoted her as saying.
Sheikh Hasina added that she found the food items without onion to be “very tasty and delicious” thanked her cook for preparing the foods, reports BSS.
Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Zahid Tusher said the premier made the comment before departing for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Saturday evening.
The prime minister's comments came hours after she announced at a party rally that the government has to take prompt steps to import onion through cargo planes immediately, to contain the abnormally shooting prices of onion.
