Rizvi also slammed Chhatra League for attacking Chhatra Dal members on DU campus on Monday

Update : 24 Sep 2019, 02:41 PM

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that a court can not interfere in the internal matters of a political party, but the lower court is behaving like the muscle power of the government by ordering the Chhatra Dal not to form the committees.

He said this at a press briefing organized on contemporary issues at the BNP central office at Naya Paltan in Dhaka on Tuesday.

He said the government is influencing the court

Rizvi said: "A partisan court brings no well being for the country. Chhatra League’s activity is questionable. Its whole committee should have been demolished by the court if the court was neutral".

"A lower court ordered an injunction on the formation of the new committee of Chhatra Dal,” he mentioned.

At the time Rizvi also slammed Chhatra League for attacking Chhatra Dal members on Dhaka University campus on Monday.

"No student movement so far was free from Chhatra League’s attack, including the movements for road safety and against the quota system."

He further accused the Chhatra League DU unit president for the attack on Chhatra Dal and claimed 50 of its activists were injured during the attack.

"The drives against casinos is an eyewash. The government’s character has been exposed during the drive,” he said.

The BNP leader said: "Smalltime leaders have connection with the corruption of huge amount of money, So, now It is clear that huge amounts were laundered by the big fishes.”

BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and Habibun Nabi Khan Sohel were also present in the press brief.
