The demand comes two days after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina relieved the president and general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League for various controversies and allegations of corruption against them.

The prime minister also selected new leadership for the ruling party’s student body on the same day.

From Sunday, a group of students and the left-leaning student body of Dhaka University (DU) demanded exclusion of former president and general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League from their posts at the Ducsu, and the university senate.
