AL delegation reaches Nanjing, China

The delegation will pass a busy day on Thursday as they will visit the Party School of CPC Jiangsu Committee, watch a presentation, and exchange views on CPC’s efforts on strengthening governance capacity

A high-level 20-member delegation of Bangladesh Awami League, led by its Presidium Member and Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Matin Khasru, has reached Nanjing, China, at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The delegation reached Nanjing on Wednesday.

CPC leaders and Director of Protocol and Information of Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu ,Gao Yan, welcomed  the Awami League delegation upon their arrival at Nanjing Lukou International Airport via Guangzhou. 

Later, they were received with flower bouquets at the Shangri-La Hotel Nanjing, where they will be staying during their visit.

The delegation will pass a busy day on Thursday as they will visit the Party School of CPC Jiangsu Committee, watch a presentation, and exchange views on CPC’s efforts on strengthening governance capacity.

Later, the delegation will visit Lingzhou Chamber and watch a presentation on Xi Jinping “Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era”.

The delegation will then have a formal meeting with Jiangsu officials which will be followed by a welcome dinner.

On Friday, the delegation members will visit the Nanjing Jiangning Development Zone, Nanjing Government Affairs Service Centre and Nanjing Traffic Control Centre, and will be briefed about their operations.

On the following day on September 7, the Awami League delegation will visit the 14th century Nanjing City Wall before departing for Zunyi later in the afternoon.

Earlier on Monday, Matin said, during this tour, the delegation will meet CPC leaders and discuss various issues, where the Rohingya crisis and their repatriation to Myanmar will also be one of the  topics of discussion.

Matin said this while addressing a press conference at the Bangladesh Awami League’s party chief Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi office ahead of the delegation’s eight-day tour to China from September 4-11.

The delegation members include Awami League’s Information and Research Secretary Md Afzal Husain, Science and Technology Secretary Md Abdus Sabur, Youth and Sports Secretary Harunur Rashid, Deputy Publicity Secretary Aminul Islam, Central Executive Committee members Dipankar Talukder, MP, Mohammad Amirul Alam Milon, Md Azmatullah Khan, ABM Reazul Kabir Kawsar, Md Rofiqur Rahman, Aparajita Haque, MP, Basanti Chakma, MP, Dhaka North City Science and Technology Secretary Nazmul Alam Bhuiyan, Dhaka South City Joint General Secretary Kamal Chowdhury, Awami League International Affairs Sub Committee members Salim Mahmud, Tarun Kanti Das, DBC News Editor Pranab Saha, Daily Janakantha Deputy Editor Obaidul Kabir Mollah, Senior BSS Reporter Golam Moin Uddin, and Md Rofiqul Islam Rony from Bangladesh Protidin.
