I do not do politics to make Tarique the leader by removing Sheikh Hasina, says Kader Siddique
Jatiya Oikya Front Convener and Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain has said the irregularities and corruption that the country is now witnessing goes against the ideologies of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
“The irregularities and corruption that is taking place in the country and the people have been robbed of their power. This is totally the opposite of the ideologies of Bangabandhu,” he said while addressing a discussion – Bangabandhu’s Murder and Resistance War – organized by Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL) president Abdul Kader Siddique at the National Press Club on Monday.
Urging all to unite against misgovernance, Dr Kamal said: “We liberated our country in 1971 through unity. Bangabandhu made the impossible into possible. However, the country is not being run as Bangabandhu dreamt. There is no alternative but to unite the people to protect this country.”
He also urged people from all villages and districts to unite for the cause.
Speaking at the event, KSJL president Abdul Kader Siddique said although his party quit Jatiya Oikya Front (JOF), the love and affection for Dr Kamal will always remain.
This is the first time the two leaders sat together after KSJL quit JOF in July earlier this year.
“I am happy that Dr Kamal attended our program. Although, I left the platform, our love affection for Dr Kamal will never end,” Kader Siddique said.
Mentioning that he left JOF because he was not ready to promote Tarique Rahman, he said: “We formed Jatiya Oikya Front under the leadership of Dr Kamal, not under BNP. Khaleda Zia is a national leader but Tarique Rahman is not.
“I left the platform because I do not do politics to give the leadership to Tarique Rahman by removing Sheikh Hasina.”
