JaPa Secretary Ranga also requested the government to provide proper compensation and rehabilitation facilities to the Mirpur slum fire victims
Jatiya Party (JaPa) has urged the government to take action against those who have resorted to foul play to push down the prices of rawhides during Eid-ul-Azha.
JaPa Secretary General Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga made the request while talking to reporters after a joint meeting of their party’s presidium members and MPs at JaPa’s Banani office on Saturday.
“What the unscrupulous businessmen have done with rawhides is an ill-motivated act. They created such a situation to give the sellers a throwaway price,” he said.
Ranga also called upon the government to provide proper compensation and rehabilitation facilities to the Mirpur slum fire victims.
He said, as their late chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad’s chehlom coincides with the Hindu community’s Janmashtami on August 23, they are set to hold a discussion meeting, doa mahfil, and a food distribution program on August 31.
Replying to a question, Ranga said their party will select its candidate for Rangpur 3 constituency seat by-election as per the party charter.
Rangpur 3 constituency became vacant following the death of Jatiya Party’s former Chairman HM Ershad on July 14.
