The new chairman of Jatiya Party (JaPa), GM Quader has said JaPa is prepared to extend their help for flood victims across the country.

He made this statement at a press conference at the party chairman’s Banani office while briefing JaPa's initiatives to help flood victims on Saturday.

"JaPa will always follow Ershad's footprints in terms of helping people. As his successor, JaPa is prepared to stand by flood affected people," GM Quader said.

"Through our work, we will keep Ershad's principle alive -  which is to serve the country people selflessly," he added.

He also said JaPa is set to open a control room in their office where around five relief teams will always be ready to render help to the flood affected as early as possible.

When asked about the party's current situation, Quader said: "99% presidium members of JaPa are working in unison and there is no room for any division.

"The party's joint leadership has strengthened our position in the country's politics."

JaPa's Secretary General Moshiur Rahman Ranga said at present, a massive area of Bangladesh is under water and the party is ready to extend their help to government's relief activities.

He also called for the support of JaPa's party members and cadres to reach out the flood affected victims in their respective areas.
