Over three years after the party’s national council was announced, Selima Rahman and Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku have been made BNP standing committee members.
BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement at a press conference at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office on Wednesday, reports BSS.
When BNP’s council was formed on March 19, 2016, the party announced the name of 17 standing committee members.
Selima Rahman and Iqbal Hassan Mahmud were made vice-chairmen at that time.
Of the 17 standing committee members, ASM Hannan Shah, MK Anwar, and Tariqul Islam have died since then.
With the appointment of Selima Rahman and Iqbal Hasan Tuku, the total number of BNP standing committee members has now risen to 16.
