Nur: Chhatra League attackers wanted to kill me

The Ducsu vice-president has claimed that Chhatra League has become a communal organization

Ducsu Vice-President Nurul Haque Nur has claimed that the Chhatra League men who attacked him in Bogra were trying to kill him.

The Bangladesh General Students’ Rights Protection Council (BGSRPC) joint-convener stated this while addressing the press at the Madhur Canteen in Dhaka University around 1pm on Wednesday.

He said: "Chhatra League has become a communal organization, and their attack on us, during our iftar mahfil proves that. 

"The Chhatra League men who attacked me wanted to kill me."

Earlier on Sunday, Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Vice-President, Nurul Haque Nur, and his companions were reportedly assaulted by Bangladesh Chhatra League cadres in Bogra town.

Bangladesh Sadharon Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad Convener Rakibul Hasan Rakib said they were attacked while attending an iftar mahfil ceremony, at the Woodburn Public Library auditorium, in Bogra Municipality Park, on Sunday afternoon.
