The Chhatra League leader had attempted suicide following her suspension
Chhatra League has withdrawn the suspension order of one of their female leaders over the Madhur Canteen clash incident.
The female Chhatra League leader, Zarin Diya, was suspended by the organization for her alleged involvement in the May 13 clash between two Chhatra League factions.
A press release—signed by Chhatra League President Rezwanul Haque Choudhury Shovon and General Secretary Golam Rabbani—was issued on Wednesday in this regard.
The press release said the suspended female leader realized her mistakes and apologized for her doings, thus, considering the humanitarian aspect of the whole situation, the organization has decided to withdraw the suspension order issued against her.
On May 21, she took some sleeping pills to take her own life, in response to her suspension order which was issued on May 20.
Diya came into the limelight after she—along with some other deprived Chhatra League activists—were attacked at Dhaka University's Madhur Canteen on May 13.
On May 15, Prime Minister and Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina instructed the leadership of the party’s student affiliate to drop controversial leaders from its central committee.
