The Awami League Presidium member was visiting Bhola on Friday when he made the remarks
Veteran Awami League leader and MP Tofail Ahmed said that lack of trust among BNP leaders have led to the weakening of the party.
The Awami League Presidium member was visiting Bhola on Friday when he made the remarks.
He said: “BNP sold nominations during the last general elections. Instead of nominating their own competent and qualified people, they peddled candidacies. I doubt BNP will be of any significance in the future. There is no mutual trust among the leaders or the activists. This is why the party is virtually non-existent.”
Tofail also said Awami League has never oppressed anyone during their tenure or harass anyone from the opposition while claiming that when BNP was in power, Awami League members had to stay on the run.
