Oikya Front announces upcoming programs

It plans to organize rallies for workers at divisional and district levels

The Jatiya Oikya Front has announced a three-day program after a party meeting on Friday afternoon.

Oikya Front leader Mahmudur Rahman Manna announced the program at a press conference after a meeting of the Steering Committee at the party office in Purana Paltan.

Manna said: “On March 26, the Oikya Front leaders will pay tribute at the National Martyrs’ Memorial on Savar at 9am on occasion of Independence Day. And on March 30, we will form a human chain in front of the National Press Club demanding fresh general elections, city corporation elections, upazila elections, Ducsu elections, safe roads, protest rising gas prices, and economic inequality. And on March 31, we will host a discussion at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh at 3pm.”

The party leader also announced plans to organize rallies for workers at divisional and district levels.

Manna also said the findings of the Mass Hearing held on February 22 could be published within seven days.

The Friday meeting began with with Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Rab) President ASM Abdur Rab in the chair. BNP Standing Committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan, Gonoshasthya Kendra Trustee Dr Zafarullah Chowdhury, JSD General Secretary Abdul Malek Ratan and others were also present.

However, Jatiya Oikya Front Convener Dr Kamal Hossain and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir were absent.
