Rizvi assures there is no division within the party as all leaders and activists remain united
BNP slammed Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader for his comment on BNP facing a split due to internal conflict, saying that “the cow does not die if it is cursed by a vulture.”
Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said this at a press conference at the party’s central office in Naya Paltan in Dhaka on Saturday.
He also said that Quader made such remarks out of heartburn for having failed to split BNP, reports UNB.
"Obaidul Quader is somehow very concerned for BNP as he is saying it may face a split or meet the fate of Muslim League.
“His affection for BNP is very strange as his remarks give the impression that the aunt's affection is greater than the mother’s," he said.
Rizvi assured that there is no division within the party as all leaders and activists remain united under the leadership of its chairperson Khaleda Zia, and acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
He said it is Awami League which has internally collapsed and is weakened by divisions of different groups and streams.
"That is why the party could not dare hold a fair election depending on its leaders and activists. The party instead stuffed ballots in the dark of night, using the police."
The BNP leader warned that Awami League will not find anyone to light the lamp at its office when it loses the power of police.
