He added that the BNP will continue to engage in movements

BNP General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that democracy has been defeated in 11th parliamentary election, which bears the biggest defeat for Awami League yet.

He made the allegations while speaking to the journalists after placing floral wreaths at the grave of BNP’s founder Ziaur Rahman on his 83th birthday at Chandrima Uddan in Dhaka.

The senior BNP leader on Saturday said: “Awami League is celebrating their victory to conceal their moral defeat in the 11th parliamentary election to divert the public’s attention from the failure.”

Responding to a question, Fakhrul said: “There is no internal tension between the BNP and its alliance members, especially Jatiya Oikya Front.

“The BNP will continue to engage in movements. The people are aware of what exactly transpired on December 30 [2018's election], and they should also rise up.”
