Ruling Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has claimed that even though the Awami League government has made some mistakes, it is still better than the previous BNP government.
“We are not perfect but the Awami League government is better than the previous BNP government. We have had some failures and made some mistakes, but during our tenure a lot of development was done than during the time of BNP,” Quader said.
He made the claims at a press briefing at the Awami League’s president’s political office in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area Friday morning.
Quader also claimed that 62% of Padma Bridge construction work has been completed so far.
He said the Awami League is in politics for the people, not for power.
Quader, also the minister for roads, transport and bridges, said: “Awami League nominated only 16-17 businessmen, and the rest are all seasoned politicians.”
The senior Awami League leader also claimed leaders of the Jatiya Oikya Front, including Dr Kamal Hossain, are now doing communal politics just like Jamaat.
