Quader also fears that BNP may stage bad incidents in the country like a reckless driver

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has alleged that BNP is trying to fish in troubled waters by jeopardizing the country's administrative system with its false campaign.

The Awami League leader came up with the allegation while speaking at a press conference at the Awami League president's Dhanmondi political office on Saturday, reports UNB.

Quader said: "BNP is out to create an unusual situation in the country by breaking the administrative system with its attack on the administration and conducting fabricated stories against it to catch fish in troubled water."

Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, alleged that BNP is trying to have an excuse to stay away from the election by bringing various allegations.

"They (BNP) know very well they've no chance to win the upcoming election with the people's vote," he said.

Quader also feared whether 'desperate' BNP may stage a bad incident in the country like a reckless driver.

He further said: "I would like to challenge Mirza Fakhrul Islam to come up with an example of any good job of theirs, with which they can go to the people. But Awami League has plenty to go with to the people.”

Replying to a question, he said they have already finalized the list of Awami League candidates.

"We're going to make the list of the candidates of the Grand Alliance in a day or two," Quader added.

About the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the election, he said they want the voting machines to be used on a limited scale in the polls.

He, however, said there is no similarity between the reality and the propaganda BNP and its alliance partners are carrying out over the EVM.
