Ruhul Kabir Rizvi says the government wants to destroy social stability in the country
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that the government is planning to create communal division in Bangladesh.
Addressing a press conference at the party's Naya Paltan headquarters on Tuesday, he said: "Awami League General Secretary ObaidulQuader has recently said a communal plot is on in the name of national unity, and the situation will be horrible if BNP comes to power.
"It indicates a plot has been launched by the government to create a communal division. The ruling party is trying to create a chaos in society by destroying the communal harmony to fish in troubled waters."
The BNP leader also claimed that Obaidul suddenly came up with this statement is a planned way to set people along the path of communal division when the communal harmony and concord were already quite strong, reports UNB.
"We think the government is trying to make a communal provocation to destroy social stability in Bangladesh," he added.
Rizvi stated that none of the government's plans would work. The government should step aside and let a fair election to be hold as it was what the mass people wanted.
He alleged that the government has arrested over 400 leaders and activists of BNP over the last few days around the time of their founding anniversary.
He strongly protested the arrest of their party men and demanded the government to release them straight away.
