Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, has urged the Juktofront leaders to prepare for the upcoming national polls, assuring that an acceptable election will take place.
Quader on Wednesday was speaking at the inauguration program of the construction works a 14 storey resident building for the Roads and Highways Division officials in the Shyamoli area.
“With due respect to the leaders of Juktofront I want to say that there is no need to hold any kind of movements for a free, fair and neutral election,”Quader said.
He further added: “The Awami League-led government will take necessary steps to protect the people if there is any destructive movement.”
“You can take preparations for the polls. Awami League has no problem with non-violent movements. But, if anyone tries to create havoc and violence in the name of movements, then the government will take strict action against them,” he added.
Quader also said politicians, who are into positive politics and are not accused in any cases and have no connection with violence and any other crime, will not be arrested.
About the BNP’s movement Quader said: “The people of the country don’t trust the BNP.”
