BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Saturday that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is unable to walk due to leg pain.
He made the statement at a press conference held at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan.
He said: “Our leader is gravely ill. Her condition is worsening every day. She has a lot of pain in her arms and legs. She is unable to sleep or walk properly.
“The nation is witnessing the suffering of Khaleda. She is being deprived of proper medical treatment. She is not being granted bail either. This is complete injustice.”
On February 8, the Dhaka Special Court-5 convicted the former Prime Minister and BNP chairperson and sentenced her to five years’ imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. She was then sent to the old central jail at Nazimuddin Road in Dhaka.
