Hanif: BNP is rife with corruption
Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahabubul Alam Hanif has remarked that BNP is a thoroughly corrupt party, and the corruption would only spread if they came to power. While delivering a speech at the inauguration of the annual sports competition of Kushtia Polytechnic Institute on Saturday, Hanif said: “If BNP comes to power, they will corrupt the country as they have corrupted their party. “While in power, they committed a plethora of heinous crimes including murdering many Awami League leaders and trying to assassinate Sheikh Hasina herself. I have nothing to say about them except that they are terrorists.” The Awami League joint general secretary also claimed that the people would rather see corrupt BNP leaders behind bars than in power. “This would be a good thing as it would reduce crime,” he added. Hanif further said: “I think Moudud Ahmed and others want Khaleda Zia to remain in prison. When the members of a party which has its top brass in jail say that they are not in danger but the government is, it is clear that the entire party is corrupt.” With Principal Mosharraf Hossain in chair, the event included speeches from Kushtia Police Superintendent SM Mehedi Hasan, Chairman of Kushtia Zila Parishad Haji Rabiul Islam, Awami League district president Sadar Uddin Khan, and General Secretary Azgar Ali, among others.
