CEC: Election not inclusive without BNP
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has reiterated that the next general election will not be inclusive without the participation of the BNP. "The BNP definitely has an important position in the county's politics. I said it before and I'm saying it again that the election will not be an inclusive one without the BNP's participation," he said at a press briefing at the Election Commission office on Friday. Currently, the party does not have any representation in the Parliament. Led by former prime minister Khaleda Zia, the BNP and its allies boycotted the last national polls demanding supervision by a non-partisan caretaker government. More than half of the MPs were elected unopposed. But this time, the BNP has said that it will take part in the next national election. "We will conduct the election in a neutral manner," the CEC said.
