BNP has changed the venue for an executive committee meeting scheduled for February 3 from the Rajdarshan hall at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) to Le Méridien Dhaka as it was denied permission for the former.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi disclosed the information at a press conference held on Thursday at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said: “ICCB authorities cancelled our booking. The usual places for the meeting denied permission as well. We were forced to book Le Méridien for the event.”
“The party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir confirmed Le Méridien as the venue a few moments ago. The meeting will take place on February 3 at 10am. BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will preside over the meeting,” he added.
The press conference was attended by BNP leaders Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, Ataur Rahman Dhali, Dr Abdur Kuddus, Abdus Salam Azad, Munir Hossain, and Asadul Karim Shahin among others.
