BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has blamed “infiltrators” for Tueday's assault on a prison van near High Court premises.
He also claimed that police searched the houses of several BNP leaders including BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Vice-Chairman Abdul Mannan, advocate Nitai Roy Chowdhury,BNP Member Secretary Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel among others.
Fakhrul delivered the statement during a press conference held at BNP's Naya Paltan's headquarters in protest of Gayeshwar Chandra Roy's arrest and police's search at the party activist's homes on Wednesday.

Fakhrul claimed BNP does not know who these “infiltrators” are, who were involved in the incident.
He said: "We are protesting peacefully and trying to engage peaceful politics. The government is trying to disrupt it intentionally and trying to keep the BNP away from the upcoming election”.
BNP activists allegedly snatched two activists from a prison van after attacking the police and vandalized the prison van in front of the High Court on Tuesday. Three policemen were injured in the attack.
The incident occurred around 3pm Tuesday when the motorcade of party Chairperson Khaleda Zia was passing through the High Court area on the way to her Gulshan home from a court in Bakshibazar.
