The Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, the youth wing of the ruling party, has expelled its member Sirhan Sherif Tomal, who is also the son of Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif, from the organization for assaulting journalists.
Jubo League General Secretary Harunur Rashid said the decision had been made on Wednesday night to ensure their political stability.
Tomal was the president of the youth wing’s Ishwardi unit.
A Pabna court rejected Tomal's bail petition on Wednesday and sent him to jail in a case filed against him for allegedly assaulting journalists.
