Awami League is going to place an 11-point proposal before the Election Commission (EC) for the next general elections which are likely to be held in December 2018.
The party's General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader confirmed the matter while talking to the journalists at the secretariat in Dhaka on Sunday.
He said: “Awami League will place an 11-point proposal to the EC during its dialogue with the Election Commission.”
However, Quader refused to discuss the details of the proposals at this moment.
Asked for his reaction, the minister welcomed BNP's participation in the dialogue with the Election Commission.
“It is very positive that BNP has sat for a dialogue with the EC. Awami League always wants BNP to participate in the election,” Quader said.
On Saturday, the ruling party’s central working committee and advisory council held a meeting at Gonobhaban in Dhaka ahead to plan for the dialogue with the EC on October 18.
