BNP claims Bank Company Act will destroy banks

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir criticised the freshly-approved Bank Company Act. The BNP leader said the government has approved the regulation to destroy the banking system in Bangladesh. “This government has already sent all the banks to their graves. Now they want to destroy every other financial institution in our country,” said the BNP spokesperson Mirza Fakhrul was speaking at a party programme at Diploma Engineers’ Institution on Monday. The BNP leader also said the government has already looted the economy, and this new act will further facilitate corruption and looting on an unprecedented scale.
