BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that indiscriminate crossfires are being carried out in the name of curbing militants without any investigation.
He came up with the statement while speaking at a public meeting at Awliapur of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila on Sunday.
“Let there be investigation to find out how the militants are created, who gives them money, who gives them shelter and protection,” said the BNP spokesperson.
“Instead of doing so the job is being accomplished summarily,” he continued.
Fakhrul also claimed that hanged Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami Bangladesh (HujiB) leader Mufti Hannan had managed to get government loan.
BNP’s Thakurgaon district unit Convener and Sadar upazila Chairman Taimur Rahman was present at the meeting.
