BNP wants to move Tuesday’s rally to Wednesday

Update : 07 Nov 2016, 11:29 PM
The BNP now wants to move its Tuesday rally to Wednesday in front of the party’s Nayapaltan central office if it gets police clearance, reports UNB. “We have sought permission from police for holding a rally at Nayapaltan on Tuesday. But still we have not received any response from them. We are waiting for the permission,” said BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. He further said: “There is no confusion that we will hold the rally. Police can give us permission for holding the programme on Wednesday if they do not allow it on Tuesday. But we must hold the rally.” He was speaking at a press briefing at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka on Monday. The BNP leader also urged the police administration to inform them whether it would permit the party to hold the rally tomorrow. Earlier, BNP sought permission for holding the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on Tuesday marking the National Revolution and Solidarity Day. Later, it sought permission to hold the rally in front of its central office as police denied permission to hold the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan. In the last few days, Rizvi reiterated that they are determined to hold their planned rally in front of party’s Nayapaltan central office “at any cost”.
